Ganton PSA How We've Helped
The PSA were pleased to help Ganton School build community links with JCT600 Peugeot and Pure Fitness and Sports of Hull. JCT600 Peugeot kindly donated raffle prizes for our last summer fayre, along with donating a cup and shield for the school to use. The General Manager Nina Douglas of JCT600 Peugeot was more than happy to build links with Ganton School when approached and along with Roger Brocklesby, Mobility Sales Executive they enjoyed a recent tour of the secondary and post sixteen site. They commented on how wonderful the building was, along with the facilities, but more importantly how friendly everyone was!
Primary pupils have benefitted from the new kitchen equipment bought by the PSA for use in their cooking lessons. They no longer have to wait their turn as everyone has their own bowl or pan or chopping board. Existing and new parents were given tours of the new primary classrooms at The Compass during the summer, when they needed to wear PPA equipment to protect them from the hazzards of the building site. Everyone was well impressed and the PSA wish to thank John Dixon for organising this.
Parents have also been into school to hear presentations from staff and other professionals about topics such as TEAM TEACH, School Improvement Planning, PIVATS and post -19 provision. Thanks to all the speakers and organisations who gave up their time. Members of the PSA have been very actively supporting the choir, both by singing with them and by providing beautiful royal blue t shirts for the choir members, which look stunning. This term the PSA held MacMillan Coffee Mornings at both sites raising much needed cash totalling £150.79 and giving the children a fun time sampling the buns and cookies. Thanks to those who kindly baked or donated money.
Future events include:
28th February: Mark Warner and Eddy Wharton to talk about Transitions
21st March: Easter Extravaganza
The PSA are working with the school to raise funds for a new minibus (or two!) to enable the children to access activities in the community. Your support and ideas are always welcome.
