This exciting pilot project which began in September 2015 enabled a small group of Y12 students from local special schools to attend a specialist provision within Hull Training based at Endeavour, and from that small beginning we now have a third cohort of learners following pathways to employment and independence.
The project is led by Sam Chegwin, Pathway Plus Manager, Ganton.
The students have been chosen because of their potential to access courses in mainstream colleges or with training providers given the right support and their high levels of independence which may lead to independent travel, living or even work in the future.
Links with companies such as Siemens have given the students opportunities to develop work related skills in the workplace and have even led to employment for one former pupil, with a cleaning company, ISS. Supported Internships are the next phase of the project and have begun this September.
